There's no thread so I thought I'd start one... such a beautiful, talented young girl who was tragically taken at such an important time in her life. She was such a beautiful woman.

With Stacey Dash (cousin of Damon Dash)...Aaliyah and Damon were rumoured to have been engaged when she died in a plane crash after filming Rock the Boat in The Bahamas.
I loved Aaliyah's music, I still do actually, and as a teenager, her style definitely inspired me.
I was into the whole fit top and baggy pants style and I liked her sleek hair style and the sunglasses too.
She had that cool tomboy style at her debut and sadly before she died she was just becoming a beautiful woman.
I think what I liked most with people like her or Vanessa Paradis is that we kind of grew up "together" and she was one of the teen stars of my generation that I looked up to.
Its so funny, I was thinking about her the other day, and how much of a loss she has been to the music industry. And now I find this thread. I miss her and her music. She was so talented and beautiful.
yeah definately, and she was just so young and had so much ahead of her in life, she was reportedly engaged to Damon Dash and she had so many close friends; missy elliot, sean combs, timberland, jay-z...and she was set to star in matrix 2 but then she died

Aaliyah was truly an incredible artist,her music was pioneering and dynamic. I loved the juxtaposition of her sweet voice against timberland’s dark and twisted beats. She was also an amazing dancer with a unique sense of style that was all her own. It is so sad that she was taken at her most beautiful and with so much more to give,does anyone have more pictures they could add?
