Nothing is wrong ... just some sytem changes by administration. Your posts will continue to count in all fashion forums and here ... just not in Sidewalk Cafe.
partly. some people have taken too much priority into power posting (=posting nonstop everywhere not caring about the content of their comments just as long as it increases their post count) to the point it's damaging the community (think hijacking threads, bombarding of one-smiley posts, sound posts, extremely vague commentary, you name it).. disabling post count in the area that's more damaged right now by people who abused the fact that it's unrelated to fashion in order to come here and build 'points' that count for nothing will perhaps work as an incentive for them to realise what this forum is about and perhaps encourage them to take part for real and RESPECT a community that was primarily created for discussing fashion.

i think thats really not fair...
ive been a member here for such a long time now and even if this is a fashion forum and i agree that it should be used primarily to discuss fashion topics (and i think thats not a problem - ppl come here to talk about fashion, just look at the online members/guests when fashion week is on!)...heart & soul is a big part of this community and it also adds alot to the general 'mood' here on tFS...members exchange about more private topics and they get to know eachother by reading and participating in the threads there...
yes i agree, there are some people who are spamming...but if there are threads like 'What smiley are you right now?', 'I miss/love/hope...' etc. what do you expect them to post there? and the majority of ppl posting there really literally put their heart & soul into the topics discussed there...
and i dont really care about MY post count and i will def continue posting in the sidewalk cafe threads...but i know im speaking for alot of ppl when i say that i feel like my posts there arent appreciated because they're not counting anyway
why make threads/allow threads like these in the first place?
next thing will be that it will be hidden?

fairy, I completely agree. I understand that there's always a few people in a situation who ruin it for everyone (in this case, it's the members who 'spam' Heart & Soul), but by not having posts count in that section, it's as if you're saying what we write doesn't really count or matter. Post counts may seem silly, and making a big fuss over it may be sillier, but it has a big effect on people. Just my two cents.
plus who judges which posts are 'important enough' and which are not? many people in the heart & soul thread for example just wanna share very private things with others and ask for advice/opinions on various topics...and the length of a post doesnt reflect its importance
or in the entertainment threads...we share our thoughts about movies/books/etc.
yeah maybe threads like 'etc etc' (...) shouldnt be included in the post count...but not the whole section!
im really sad because tFS used to be a fun place...and now theres a new rule, etc. every week or so...
its good to have rules, i agree...but i think that lots of people will stop posting in sidewalk cafe threads now because of that post count thing...and thats a shame because its such an important section for the 'general forum mood' as i said...i found so many great friends by exchanging thoughts about personal topics or problems, i found so much support there...and now its just 'not worth it' anymore...thats what it feels like for me
