Creating URL Links that are Embedded in Text ... Hyperlinks

I'm trying to use hyperlinks on TFS, but I can't get the hang of it. Could anyone please tell me how to use them? Thanks

In order to put a link into your words (I think this is what you mean?). .
- highlight them, then click on the insert link button and paste in the relevent url, it should work then.

Creating URL Links that are Embedded in Text

I use the tFS button "insert link" to embed a link to a web page or tFS post. When my post renders, I can see most of the link with some ... if it's a long string.

But I notice that some people are able to write here instead of a visible link. I've looked everywhere to figure out how to do this, and I've drawn a blank.

Solution, please? I like the 'look' of here better.

If this inquiry is redundent, please merge and accept my apology for needlessly creating a new thread.

Thank you!

write LOOK then make it "blue" (use your mouse to go over the word) and then click insert link and add the link and its done.

Hopefully this helped

That's how you do it ... although it's not always blue highlighting ... it's green or black for me, so I think it depends on your settings, I guess.

For any of you don't know how this works: First highlight any word ... hold down your left click while you drag your mouse over the word, just as if you were going to copy it. Then click on the "insert link" button at the top of your message window (it looks like a globe with a chain link) and paste the URL in the box that comes up and cliick OK. That should do it.

Thank you both! Sounds like keyboard alchemy! It does look so much more tidy.

How to embed a link

Highlight (holding down your left mouse and moving your cursor over the entire url/link)

When all is highlighted hit Ctrl C on your keyboard - you have now copied the link

Lets say you want the word 'Bingo' to be embedded with the above url...

Here's what you do:

1) You highlight Bingo
2) You select the Insert Link icon
3) a pop up window appears - you remove the http:// already there
4) You paste in your link (Hit Ctrl V on your keyboard)

The link is now embedded.

I took screenshots on my computer which obviously is set to Danish hence the gibberish (to most) text in the pop up box. Don't mind that..
