A different forum I used to frequent had an option where, upon clicking a thread, you were sent to the first unread post. This feature was really cool, because you didn't have to scroll through the messages that you had already read, and you didn't have to guess how far along the discussion was when you were last in it. However, coding this sounds really difficult...

Actually that arrow will take you to the very last post in the thread, which may or may not be the first unread post. You need to click on the arrow pointing downward that you can see when you're in any one of the forums. It will always take you to the first unread post

great, I was wanting this feature!
I find it takes a lot of time to keep up with my subscribed threads, I'd like more features that make it easier.
Another one that would be good IMO -
- some kind of marker that shows which threads have unread posts that contain pictures, and a link that takes you to the first new post with pictures attached.
