invites are also so hard to get!
I agree with you! So i voted for yes, and i dunno why invites are so hard to get. :|

Maybe invites could be for people with more than let's say 1,000 posts.

I think it should be yes but application or some thing...to those people who say a thing like "the first day of every month people can register because if they really want to join they will wait" is not always right, if a bad member or a spammer already takes all that energy to spam and harass then they will wait too.

that's true, but for the days that registration is closed then the moderators can moderate activity without having more members keep registering. and until the time of the new registration day, then the moderators can delete the members who have been causing trouble during that period. i'm still not sure if i'm making it as understandable as i can, but hopefully you get what i mean

I get it! That also makes sense. This is such a hard thing to pick yes or no!

Could we make the tFS guidelines and rules more strict? With no room for troublemaking. A "Strike one... you're out." kind of thing? Applications for a forum seems very time consuming.

tFS members can always "report a post" too, right? So if a spammer starts causing trouble, they'll be reported and banned. Although more Mods would probably be needed...

but then some people might go on a posting frenzy, just in order to get their post count to 1000+

How about having open registration for one week every couple of months? And have the week always random.

That's a great idea. And maybe Karma could be tied to it. Or even each member gets 10 invites every 6 months.

Yes! I find the whole invite-only thing quite annoying. Just because you weren't invited doesn't mean you don't have as much to offer as someone who was. This isn't a secret society, it's a fashion forum on the interw3bz

I know people who do contribute and really want to participate but can't because they don't know anyone with invitation privileges.

but why don't you invite them then?

i mean.. i've gotten invitations twice, it's not that hard, is it? i'm still for no. even though 'fresh blood' (how very hannibal lecter) is a good thing.

I say for people who have been here long. And 1,000...no almost everyone has a 1,000. (excluding me and new memebers) Why not 10,000? Or is that to much?

^ someone mentioned it before, about the post count and how it will make members go on a mad posting spree to reach X amount of posts to get more invites.
but for people who don't know any current users at tFS, how will they get in? that's the hard thing about invites, you still have to know someone who's already in.
