I just recieved a message from one of the moderators at Celebutopia saying that we're not allowed to copy their images/codes and put them on here. So from now on we need to download the pictures ourselves and upload them.
Just thought I should say this to everyone since I know there's a lot of people on here posting pics from Celebutopia
With celebrity city still down, a lot of people have had to go there as a source for photos. Good to know. We don't need to stir up any more trouble Thanks for the info!!!
Yeah and if we're allowed to use the pics, why can't we just take them as they are? Instead of downloading it and then upload them again, it's still the same pics and they're still from the same place...
Hotlinking is against the rules anyway isn't it? So the same applies to other websites too.
not for sites like imagevenue, which is where celeb city etc upload their pics!
i think it's so ridiculous
it's probably in their best interest to have people hotlink their imagevenue thumbnails anyway, because that way they won't get deleted after a year or whatever of inactivity.
They've been asking members here not to copy and paste their links for quite some time. I've never personally received a warning from them but I know a few members here who have.
I don't see the big deal either to be honest. We're not stealing their bandwidth. If we were hotlinking that would be a different story.
I think in the end they're just going to ban us. Because I can recall members receiving this exact message last year and nothing has changed. And I don't think it ever will to be honest.
^ Not sure. It was just a guess to how far they may take it. As their board has grown they have definitely become more stringent about posting pictures elsewhere.
I don't think it will ever get to that point though. We're not hotlinking and as you mentioned anyone can access imagevenue or any other hosting site. Plus we always credit and its not like they don't take from us. I've seen plenty of our scans on their board . I just like to think of it as sharing. As long as credit is given where its due I see no problem.
