We do have a new system in place to advise members if a post has been deleted and the reason it was deleted, as a reminder of the Community Rules. But it does not work for merging threads. Sometimes, if the mod has extra time you might get a PM ... but we can't do that on all merges because it's very time consuming. Sorry.
To avoid this problem and to adhere to the
Communtiy Rules,
please, do an advanced search before you start a thread, to ensure that there is not already an ongoing thread on the same topic. We have to spend quite a bit of time cleaning and merging threads, when members have not taken the time to do this.
