Chanel Launches Skin Care Line - Beauté Initiale

Quote:
Chanel will launch its first skin care line directed at twenty- and thirty somethings this September. Beauté Initiale reportedly is designed to prevent skin damage before it starts.

Blue ginger PFA is the main ingredient in the five product line. The polyfractioned version of blue ginger is grown in Madagascar and is said to exhibit antioxidant properties. According to the company, the polyfractioned blue ginger is 1,400 times more concentrated than its original. It is manufactured in the company's labs in Sophia Antipolis, France, using its polyfractioning technology that is designed to allow the use of costly ingredients in mainstream products through a 12-step technique to increase the amount of usable extract and purify it.

We have the best intentions where our skincare is concerned, however, sometimes life gets in the way of our perfect regime.

Too few glasses of water and too many scoops of Jamoca Almond Fudge ice-cream leaves us with not-so-happy skin. Add some stress and a few sleepless nights and our skin fights back—leaving us with a dull complexion and bags under our eyes. Lovely.

This fall, CHANEL is launching a new skincare line, unlike any of its others, targeting skin in its 20’s and 30’s (before the serious damage sets in). Beauté Initiale is designed to boost radiance and restore skin’s natural defense system (and pick up where we’re clearly slacking) with key ingredients like blue ginger, a supercharged antioxidant hand-picked in Madagascar, and vitamins C and E.

Five products complete the Beauté Initiale collection:

CONCENTRÉ ÉNERGISANTE MULTI-PROTECTION Energizing Multi-Protection Concentrate
CRÈME ÉNERGISANTE MULTI-PROTECTION Energizing Multi-Protection Cream SPF 15
FLUIDE ÉNERGISANT MULTI-PROTECTION Energizing Multi-Protection Fluid SPF 15
CRÈME YEUX ÉNERGISANTE MULTI-PROTECTION ANTI-POCHES/ANTI-CERNES Energizing Multi-Protection Eye Cream Anti-Puffiness/Dark Circles SPF 15
FLUIDE ÉNERGISANT MULTI-PROTECTION HÂLE PROGRESSIF Energizing Multi-Protection Fluid Healthy Glow SPF 15

Beauté Initiale is available beginning October 2007 at department and specialty stores and at chanel.com.

It sounds interesting. However, I have used a Chanel moisturizer before and did not find it suitable for my sentitive skin. Hmm.

It's pretty powerful, I found the BI line to be too active for my skin.

blah, sounds too insane, the "recently discovered" ingredients from madagascar mentioned, Dior have been using it for over a year now in their multi perfection Capture totale, which is targeted for mature skin.. you get the hint

so yeah, a bit too active for younger skins, but then again, chanel young is for like 50 year olders

I got a a sample of Energizing Multi-Protection Fluid SPF 15 & Energizing Multi-Protection Eye Cream Anti-Puffiness/Dark Circles. These products are very expensive so must first try samples before buying but neither impressed me much!!

what is it actually made to do, though. i know it says prevent skin damage before it starts, but do they mean in terms of fine lines, sun spots, age spots etc. ?

^Im assuming.

basically all preventing skincare targeted for a younger crowd is mostly moisturizing and line preventive.

What a load of hype....besides your skin is still reacting to what you did ten years ago. It's ten years behind. Chanel skin care-tacky! I've always thought so.

i would too. i'm just curious about how it would work out for anyone
being that it's "CHANEL" & ppl think that since it's such a highly esteemed
name that it would work wonders.

I wouldn't trust chanel products with a bargepole...and they have the crappiest fragrances available too imo. Am I alone on this? o_o;
