MD Skincare

I was recently recommended MD Skincare's Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel (http://www.mdskincare.com/productdet...m?SKU=MD031000) by my esthetician and am wondering if anyone has tried it. It's gotten great reviews at www.makeupalley.com but I'd still like the opinions of some tFSers! Does anyone have any experiences with the line itself? It's expensive, but I do usually trust the products carried by my spa. What do we think?

I absolutely love this stuff! You can test it out at Sephora (it comes with 2 sets of pads to be used in conjunction: Beta & Alpha). This product was actually my first introduction to 'peels' & now I'm hooked...

It's especially great for first timers, but note that over time the skin becomes increasingly immune to peels/acids. So it initially cleared my skin like no other, but after using it for months I'm onto using stronger products like MakeUp Artist's Choice peels to maintain such glowing results.

Also, using it every other day or only a couple times a week is still beneficial - that's what I did to make the product last since it's so pricey! (Also, despite the name it doesn't actually cause the skin to peel, it simply deeply exfoliates with gentle acids)

Thanks for responding, Fabulyss! I'm definitely considering this now.

Ok, I've bought it and now have another quick question: How long did it take for you to notice results? I like what it does in the short term (I've only used it thrice), and am wondering what to expect in the long term.

But so far, so good!

Glad you like them

Well it is fantastic acne prevention, since it deeply exfoliates (it cleared my skin up right away and prevented future breakouts). But of course, they need to be used continually (once you stop dead skin cells will just clog back up). And like I mentioned earlier, by the time you're finished with this batch you may need to up the amount of glycolic and/or lactic acid you use as skin tends to become immune after a long period of use. This means buying stronger products like MUAC peels, which I strongly recommend http://www.makeupartistschoice.com/c...eels-10-1.html
You start with the lowest percentage and work your way up. I wouldn't worry about that now though

Oh and don't forget to wear SPF as even gentle peels like MD's can make skin more sensitive to the sun!!

I heard it was a great product too. I forgot about it so I never gave it a try. Post back if you do like it as well.

Ok, so it's been two weeks since my last post, which means more like two and a half weeks into the peels. I've used a total of 12, and not every day but when I can. I have to say, this has already made a massive difference. My skin is responding really well to this thing and I LOVE it. I bought it because I have some mild discoloration/post-acne marks/hyperpigmentation that I wanted cleared up because I'm all a little obsessive about my skin (i'm sure plenty of you here can relate...). Although they are recommended for use in the AM, I've been using them each night and it feels great getting into bed with my face so refreshed. The peels have helped to visibly diminish the existing imperfections and my skin tone is on its way to being pretty fantastic. And it's only been two weeks! As far as I'm concerned, this stuff is a godsend. Wish I had discovered it earlier.

I will update in a few weeks after I've finished the box.
