I read an article about Jessica Simpson, and I read that she apparently enjoys organic cigarettes from time to time.
I typed "organic cigarettes" into Wikipedia, and no results came up. The word "organic" didn't even show up under the "Cigarette" article.
Does anyone know anything about this "trend" of organic products/merchandise?
I know that I have tried cherry-flavored cigarettes that my friends promised weren't addictive, but the cigarettes did have tobacco inside. (Sans nicotine, I guess.)

that's how we call these kind of - disgusting - cigarettes in France...
it's really horrible and it smells sooo bad...

It's a new way to stop smoking... You buy a fake cigarette and put some nicotine powder in it... When you smoke it, there's nothing bad in it (li.e : thse chimic products in the real ones)... there's only nicotine... and whn you breath out, it's water vapor so it isn't bad for your entourage, nor it is for your health....

ahhha! But the higher levels of nicotine would just make you more addicted wouldnt they? As a casual smoker... I cant see the point its nasty either way!

Bidis are clove cigarettes; there may be organic ones, but not all are, and they are not the same thing.
Higher levels of nicotine will make you more addicted to nicotine; there is some question as to whether the chemical additives in most cigarettes contain other, more addictive substances besides nicotine.
American Spirits were the last brand I smoked before quitting, and it was still very hard to quit, and took several tries.

I smoke American Spirits and can't smoke anything else.
Everything else tastes too much like chemicals and not like tobacco and burns so fast!
AS are very slow burning.
The lack of chemicals doesn't make them safe by any means and I really should quit.

A friend of mine actually switched from Marlboro Lights to AS Lights just to quit.
She said it was easier to quit from those for some reason.
She didn't go cold turkey....
cut down and then eventually stopped.

Bidis are not cloves. They are regular tobacco rolled in Eucalyptus leaves. Sometimes they are flavored with spices, but they aren't the same thing as straight clove cigarettes. It's what the more blue-collar/manual labor people in India smoke. They're very cheap.

I stand corrected.
I have since read that they may also be flavored with chocolate, vanilla and other sweet flavorings, and are being marketed as "natural" cigarettes in the US now. I also read that they are made from tobacco flakes and dust, which makes them both cheaper and harsher (which is why the flavorings are added.)

Yup. They are really quite awful. Those were the first cigarettes I ever tried, (though not flavored) and they cost me 1.50 us dollars.
As far as natural cigarettes, I even heard that American Spirits are not quite what they are advertised to be. If someone wanted something without all that other stuff that tobacco companies add, you could always buy loose tobacco and roll 'em yourself. It's far cheaper and tastes better. (I don't taste any chemicals when I have one)
one thing i know is that regular cigarettes have a lot of disgusting additives! the weirdest thing is amonia... it makes the uptake of nicotine much faster. sometimes you can smell the amonia, like in clubs where there's a ton of cigarette smoke seeped into the walls.
so at least organic cigarettes are just tobacco, fewer additives. i prefer a really good cigar, myself, that is the best way to appreciate tobacco!
and btw - bidis are traditionally wrapped in tendu leaves... my husband is from india, once in awhile a friend will pass along a pack of bidis. i love the packaging they come in... but they knock me out!
