Skin help!

I am getting so self-conscious about some tiny red and purple veins in the skin over my nostrils. They are getting bigger and far more noticable, and they look like lumps and spots, which makes my nose look disgusting! What can I do? And I don't mean using concealor - I want them to go away completely!

Thanks for any advice!

I don't know I've only seen this on older guys who drink a lot....do you fit that category
If not I would check into see a dermatologist

Do you have a skincare routine? I so, what does it involve?

Ha. Oh dear. I do drink, yes, but under the suggested alcohol units per week - so I doubt thats it.

I exfoliate twice a week, tone and cleanse every day, drink loads of water, herbal tea etc. eat green veg everyday (i'm vegetarian) and like to think I'm pretty healthy. I've had these for about 2 years now, but they're getting worse, and I'm not happy - I don't want a red nose! haha

Id definitely recommend seeing a dermatologist if you're feeling anxious about it.

Maybe you should switch to all-natural skin products? (like Burt's bees) If you have sensitive skin, synthetic material can make you blotchy?

Oh thanks so much for the link!

And no, spider veins don't seem to run in my family (off the top of my head). I've tried many products, and make my own exfoliator (with olive oil, sea salt and lemon juice) but nothing I use seems to have any effect on that area. I think I will trot off to see a dermo.

I have that problem too, just above my jaw. It seems to happen in the winter...but they're not really noticable, so I don't care (for now )

Sounds like telangiectasia, which are dilated superficial blood vessels. The cause can be inherited, but also can come from spicy foods, over-consumption of alcohol, too much sun exposure, extreme heat conditions, etc. Usually to have them removed you need to undergo laser treatments. I have one or two small ones under my nostrils on my upper lip that I treat with Biologique Recherche Creme Verte Espoir. The Red Vine Extract in it helps inflammation like this, and it's getting noticeably lighter. Be gentle when exfoliating in this area. Dont scrub your skin or you could create more damage. Wear an SPF at all times also. Good luck.

Perhaps the skin on your nose is very thin that you can actually see the veins?? Just a thought.. hehe
