Icon5 When to start anti-wrinkle creams

What age should we start using anti-wrinkle creams? I was at the drug store yesterday and bought some vitamin e anti-wrinkle cream out of curiosity. Mind you I'm only 18, Asian.. (apparently Asians don't wrinkle as much?) but I don't want to start wrinkling up during my 30's.

Your thoughts?

An expert in a skin care article that I read said in your thirties. Nuxe has a anti aging moisturiser for the ages 25-30. I am 25 and I wanna start using it pretty soon.
I think that 18 is to soon to begin with anti aging products.

I think anything with high spf is good to use now (when you're young) and always. Probably the best anti-wrinkle method according to like every dermatologist....

I'm 24 and started using anti wrinkle eye cream when I turned 21. Other than that I use regular face moisturiser and a SPF50 everyday. I think sun protection is more important at the moment, while I pretty much have no wrinkles. (I am asian like you). I will probably start to use anti wrinkle face cream when I hit late 20s or early 30s?

i agree. 18 seems far too young to even be worrying.

Well, if you live in cold climate, like northern Europe, there is no need to use SPF over 30 during winter and SPF 40 during summer. I used to use SPF 50 all year round and my doctor told me it's actually has an adverse effect on my skin because a bit of sun exposure is essential for vitamin D production. So I've been using 30 SPF since, by Clarins and the same eye SPF cream by Clarins. It also has some other anti-oxidant properties. And you should start using moisturizing eye cream at night if you haven't already (not the anti-wrinkle, just moisturizing). The truth is, your skin starts to detiriorate from the age of about 16 - 17 but at a very slow rate till your late twenties. There isn't anything you can do about that. But you can stall the process by eating as little sugar as possible, not smoking and using appropriate SPF all over your body.

So weirddd! The other day I was thinking about whether I should start using some kind wrinkle cream, but I think using sunscreen more often, even during cloudy weather should be good. This summer I noticed two freckles sprout up underneath my eyes! This had never happened before. Also, when I look in the mirror I can see my skin definitely looks more wrinkly than it did before. My mother always tells me to be careful so that I don't look like her She never wore protection and now she has some age spots and premature wrinkling and she's not yet 50. She's constantly buying creams for her face now. She says I will live to regret those long days of suntanning on the beach with no SPF protection haha

I've been using anti-ageing cream two years ago when i was 24...i got to say i look as good as i was when i was 24....i clean my face at night, use toner, vit C serum ( all SK II) products, i use caviar luxe eye cream from le prarie...i use this everyday and when i wake up in the morning....my face always has a glow....evening products are essential as your skin feeds in while your sleeping...

But I thought that your body still absorbed the Vitamin D, even while wearing sunscreen?

If you just want protection for the skin around your eyes - is it better to start with an anti-wrinkle product now (I'm 22) or just use something which has high spf?

It doesn't. Many Australians have vitamin D deficiency because they wear sunscreen all the time. A SPF of 8 decreases the skins vitamin D production by 95 %.

Wow I live in Australia and I'm slathered in spf30+ sunscreen all year-round, all over my body. I'm pretty sure I have enough vit. D though... e.g it's 40 degrees celsius today

Answering the question- I think as soon as you can afford a good one. I think 18 is not too young, maybe buy a light eye cream (not creme de la mer, for example lol) so that it doesn't clog your pores/give you millia. BUT the most important thing is to wear sunscreen!

Never! Becouse all that anti-wrinkle products are just one of the manipulating moves of the big companies!
