Yikes, this is one of those questions I hate to even think about...some months are more than others though. I would say at least a couple of hundred but sometimes like this month, it was over 1K.

After reading all these posts about multiple Chanel bags and multiple LVs and multiple Chloe dresses, I was wondering the same thing! I guess a better question is what % of net income is spent on shopping?!

At this point, I think it's about 10% or less, although I've never added it all up. Probably more since I've been reading tFS!

wow, that is a hard question. i've never actually stopped to calculate, but i think it sort of depends on the months. the past couple of months have been pretty hectic with christmas, birthdays, parties, and now the grammys (which i just started shopping for yesterday).

HAHAHA. Well, you always have to shop. Now, in terms of shopping shopping, it depends on the month, for me.

I have some months that I don't spend any money on shopping and then there are the months that I spend like over a $1000 to something. I just save all my money that I get and then spend it on clothes and SHOES! I should stop shopping and start saving but we only live once!

I have to agree with everyone who said it depends on the month. Generally I spend less than $500 (10% net income) on clothes/bags a month. I tend to only shop sales, outlets, etc, splurging only occaisonally on a full-ticket item. I don't follow trends, so that makes things easier. If I must have something trendy, I hit Forever 21, Target or H&M and get it cheap.

I actually added up the past month's worth of purchases today, and I spent $2200 in exchange for merchandise ticketed over $5800. Mostly Elie Tahari, Max Studio, Chaiken, BCBG and Theory stuff, with a Botkier bag, Via Spiga boots, diamond studs and Ferragamo heels as the only accessories purchases. After Christmas money, gift cards and per diem money I saved while travelling, only about 1k of that actually came out of my own pocket.

My parents would die if they just read that!

I would say less than 100 or exactly 100 dollars over the course of a month.

wow, $100. I wish that I could do that!

For me it also depends on the month. I really don't keep track of how much I spend what so ever (I'm afraid the figure would scare some sense into me ) but I just looked at my debit card statement and it appears that I've spent $1846 since January 24th (that's 9 days) on shoes, dresses, a pair of jeans and sunglasses. Earlier this month (January) the only things I've bought are 39 DVDs, two DVD box sets and a $215 bag. So it varies, apparently I didn't feel the need to shop much after Christmas, but the past week or so I have been.

I have absolutely no idea how much I shop for on an average month, it can vary from close to nothing to a lot, depending on my mood.

I have a $600 a mo. budget. I save for the investments. 600 goes pretty fast in free people though =P
