Opinions/suggestions on mens jackets?

I need something to keep my warm on my short commute to work this winter.

It's nice, but it looks more like a shirt than a jacket. I don't think it'll keep you warm at all.

i agree with faust...
plus i'd say it was strap/zip overkill...
it could do with at least two less straps or zips...imo....

what about a peacoat from the army navy store...
such a classic look...and very handsome...

Yeah, those straps are crap. It's just alright other than that. You could find something better. Good luck.

You have just summed up my entire problem with Nice Collective. Too much of that fiddly nonsense on everything they do.

And I don't have a problem with straps if they're done right...I have tasty Balenciaga bondage pants arriving in the mail today, and I like a lot of Helmut Lang's stuff with straps and utility pockets, but the way Nice Collective does them is just wrong. They seem to be applied as decorative afterthoughts, instead of being an inherent part of the design.

Regarding the jacket, I agree it doesn't look substantial enough to actually function as a jacket. If you need something warm for winter, there are a lot of designers who've done this sort of modern military-styled look in recent years, or you could go for the more classic military peacot look as previously suggested.

You might hit some good deals on Yoox looking for stuff by Number (W)ine, Undercover, Maharishi, Griffin, Balenciaga, Yohji Yamamoto or Junya Watanabe. They've all done nice peacoats and/or military jackets recently.

p.s. Factory People is here in Austin...winter comes late down here, so you're not likely to see any good winter jackets on their site for a couple of months still.

2 of my favorite options
- a peacoat ( classic, ysl's done some great ones)
- heavy knit - try cloak or missoni
