Best Primer ?

Does anyone know a good primer they'd recommend? I know MAC, benefit and Laura Mercier all do it and there's probably lots of others so I thought I'd find out what everyone uses before I decide!

I would disagree - but i also hate the feel of silicone on my face.
I dig vincent longo's water canvas base.

..water based.

Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel is cheap and many people say it works as good as the smashbox primer.

I would encourage anyone looking for recommendations to search in that thread though. Some very good advice can be found there!

Heard great things about this primer from Becca-

Becca Cosmetics Mineral SPF Primer (SPF 30)
Becca's NEW SPF 30 Mineral Primer has an oil-free formulation, a silky matte finish and a cocktail of anti-oxidant vitamins to prime and protect the skin pre-makeup. A 100% natural mineral UV barrier provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection that is low irritant and suitable for sensitive skin. BECCAs Mineral SPF Primer is ideal for use under make-up everyday or at the beach or when playing sports and has been developed using Australian Sunscreen technology.

you guys are gonna hate me, but HANDS DOWN the best primer I have ever used (and continue to do so) is from Fin de Siecle and its called "tsuyu hime" which means dew princess. it has extracts of japanese sake in it, and is perfect for most days when I dont want to even wear foundation. unfortunately not only is it only sold in Japan as far as i know, its even kind of hard to find here... best of all it comes to about 12$.

i have a bottle full of prescriptives foundation but i dont even need it with this glorious stuff...

I tried benefit that gal, I liked it but IDK I coulden't really tell much different so I bought MAC Prep and Prime and I LOVE the way it goes on my face, and I think I like it better!

I really want to try the smashbox one but it's hard to find here so I would have to order online which I dislike.

I tried the smashbox one the other night... I'm not sure I can say anything positive or negative about it. My skin looked the same as usual! (I never wear primer).

On makeupalley.com many people are saying that they broke out from this primer.

Are you supposed to apply it to bare skin? I applied primer about 30 mins after I moisturized my skin...

Anyone know the best reasonably priced primer? I'm on a budget! MAC would be too expensive, but I still want something quite decent.
