Frye Boots

Read an article today about the newest boot craze in New York: Frye Boots. I've seen them before but never knew the name, but they are much more versatile than Uggs, if a little less comfortable. But now winter's passed and we're all getting the warm weather. I think they would look great with minis, but not exactly sure if I would get them. They look very normal if classic. It could just be another 5 minute phase... What do you think??

Obviously most of them are ugly but i think if you just have one good design everyone catches on.
I like the round-toed camel coloured small heeled ones at the bottom of the page. They're the most famous design, apparently.

I don't like any of them. They look like riding boots. Ugly riding boots.

i was just thinking about this today...i saw a LOT of girls in the east village wearing these...and looking cute...

i have these...

i haven't worn them much...they need to be distressed or worn in more...they only look good beat up...mine are still too new...i'm thinking of customizing them by cutting off a few inches and making them a bit shorter...and a bit rougher... i think it will look cool with miniskirts

goes with my pirate look...... irate:

:P

I haven't seen too much of these, but from the pictures I would have to say IMO those are the FUGLIEST boots since uggs were put back in their place. Maybe they look better roughed up but.....gah......

Those are the epitome of what my style is not about.
Cowboyness, chunky heels, stiffness, overly tough...
Sorry, but I hate, hate, hate that style!

i thought so too...but i've seen a couple of girls really pull these off...

but they were really vintage frye's...they're meant to be worn on a ranch...

there used to be a lot of vintage ones on ebay...but it looks as though they all got snatched up...

i don't know if i will pull it off...but i'm determined to try...it's a personal challenge...

i love the idea of taking something that i would never wear and making it work somehow...it's like a game...

i'm contemplating throwing mine in the washing machine... :P

Personally, I looooove the tough Cowpunk-pirate look. I think if it's worn right it can be sexy and badass and glamorous all at once, but these are very, very wrong. They say 'mall' instead of 'ranch', 'Starbucks' instead of 'Saloon', 'Suburbs' instead of 'Home on the range'. Plus Posh Spice always has and always will irritate me, but whatever.

great post slinky-

...you have a good point with the posh spice reference there...

well...i'll give it a try...i can always chuck 'em if it doesn't work...

just have to try to destroy them completely and break them of their suburbian tendencies... :P

I almost bought a pair for fw03, but I ultimately decided that they are just way too clunky, and are very not me.

I like them. I think they are kinda cute. I get sick pointy toes and stilettos... i like a little variety.

And I like Britney's cowboy boots. Esp since I've had the exact same pair since I was sixteen.
