kimair, I LOVED those, the shoes from that collection were all pretty wicked.
I haven't really loved Gucci's womens shoes since last fall (07). Some of the black and gold pumps and sandals were really beautiful.
The newest stuff for this fall looks kind of run of the mill, like stuff you could find at any Aldo or department store for less money.
Gucci also did these inredible plum colored snakeskin loafers with an elongated toe for men last fall. On sale they were about $700....I wish I had just said screw it and gotten them.

I have quite a few Gucci shoes but haven't liked anything the last couple of seasons. I did become obsessed with Louboutin for most of my evening heels but still look each season to see what comes out for Gucci. Gucci fulfills many of my shoe style needs that Louboutin doesn't. My flats that I often wear to work are Gucci and some of my most of my sandals/slides are Gucci.
i have to say that this season's footwear selection from gucci is pretty spectacular...
almost all of the boots are amazing...
(except for the dumb gold logo medallion...)
and from what i am seeing...
even though the prices are really sky high..
some styles are already sold out in the most popular sizes!...
i'd say that the footwear business is what is driving gucci right now...

those shoes are really something special......
i read that all of the Gucci shoes were made by a famous italian house which also has their own line. i forgot which one it was now though haha.
these are the most perfect shoes i've ever seen. my only problem was, they were ONLY available in the US. yes, i checked throughout stores in Europe and even China and Hong Kong (a city which usually gets EVERYTHING). nothing. the US branch of Gucci have bought up the entire amount of those shoes produced.
i'm still sad i never got them. they're really perfect IMO. cover up the top part, and it's formal dress shoes, but as a boot.
