Colored Denim

I think it is hard to pull off, but for some reason, I feel it could come back. It might be seeing all of the gray and black, which isn't traditional denim, bust still sexy.
Do you think that it would ever catch on?
I think that last summer in the beginning, a few websites tried to promote, but it looked like the colors were ultra hard to wear...like turquoise, peach, yellow etc.
So, my question is, what color denim do you think would be hot?
I am thinking of buying a package of dye and testing the waters ( no pun intended )
Also, I think if it's in color, it should be skinny...don't you think?

Those are pretty cute, the zippers make it kind of 80's though...
I meant anything BUT black by the way.
What colors would you like?
I am feeling pink.
Remember when A-Life on Orchard Street, had that Levi's installation with colors like Crayon red, yellow, green, and blue?
Yuck!

whaaat, tsubi makes them already

well then I think it just may become a trend, and a big one!
those tsubis actually look like fun. when I red the first post, I was thinking that black, grey and maybe white could be the best colours, but other colours look good too, kinda 80s, but in a good way. and I think they should be skinny, like lostinemotion said

I like black/grey, but I'm not into all of the colors. I think it may catch on larger than it is right now, but I dont think it will be huge.

The colored jeans are a bit too retro for my taste. The black jeans made me chuckle... I remember wearing black jeans in elementary school. For some reason, the knee areas would always fade.

^ If only they could actually be more retro looking.... I would love them more.....

The ones posted are more britney spears style than anything....

I would love to have bright colored neon jeans....... but actually to be honest, colorful leggings are much better than this...

to each their own I guess.... Except for BLACK, which is not part of my definition of COLORED DENIM, I don't think this trend will ever really catch on.....

I don't even see this as a trend!

This is really hard to pull off...Dolce & Gabbana had green jeans for S/S 05, and Number (N)ine did another variation of the green jean for this season, although much skinnier. I would imagine green would be the most interesting color to see how it is matched in a wardrobe, although how much wear it would get in one's closet is questionable as it's probably IMO the hardest kind of pant to pull off. Red, hot pink denim can be nice in the extremely skinny variety...easier to match as those go well with skinny suit jackets.

Also with the resurgence of the velvet jean some color is coming back...light blue is a nice color for this, as is a darker, 'electric' kind of blue (worn well with a brown velvet smoking jacket, gold shirt and the electric blue jeans in newest issue of 10 Homme magazine for Dior Homme photo shoot).

the thing that makes me afraid of colored jeans is that people at my school will end up wearing the same color head to toe!
i keep thinking of gap's ad campaign awhile ago with colored khaki pants.

What could you wear bright colored denim with? I could only imagine a simple, solid colored t-shirt or maybe blouse. It seems anything more would be too much going on in one outfit. I may be wrong, but it doesn't give you much space to play around much.

What seasecrets said reminds me of this one girl I know who always wears magenta pants with a magenta see-through top and a magenta tank top undernear, or the same thing in lime green. It looks so bad. I'm tempted to post her myspace pics in these horrible outfits but I dont think that would be right
