I wore them this whole winter.
Mine are a bit more 'feminine' as in less harsh and chunky, by Sonya Rykiel (I can never spell her name ).

I will be sort of annoyed, to be honest, if they become a major trend..because I like being the only one in school who wears them.

Post #32...those would take 1/2 hour to lace up. I couldn't go that high.

docs were very popular when i was in high school among the punk/goth crowd.

I couldn't rock them.

This thread makes me nostalgic. I bought a pair of black 10-eyes with my first paycheck ever when I was about 15 years old.

That was ten years ago and I still have the boots (my feet haven't grown since then), although I only wear them in the snow now. Otherwise they are too clunky and not really my style anymore, although I do love the uniquely Doc Martens oxblood color of some pairs.

I also had a pair of brown and cream brogues that I wore in high school when I was into ska.

I've been expecting these to come back for a while...I mean the last time they were fashionable was the mid-90s - centuries ago in fashion terms, so the timing is right.

I've got three pairs from my early teen years - black 8-eyes, apple green 8-eyes , and black 20-eyes (i.e. knee-length). I do love the idea of wearing them with something completely unexpected...like wearing them with long full layered wool skirts in soft neutral colours. I don't like the heavy goth/metal connotation though...docs are perhaps one of the most strongly stereotyped shoe around. I'd like the burgeoning trend to be more focused on the early 20th century utilitarianism of the style.
but to be honest I find them SO uncomfortable to wear. I never completely broke mine in. the way they shape around my ankle is awkward and I always got terrible blisters from mine.

Good news. I love my docs and I was never able to part with them. I have a pair of black steel toed 20 eye, regular 14 eye, and patent leather 14 eye. They've too often been used only for the rain and when I go out to certain clubs.

Stripes and Doc-like boots?
It reminds me of a Versace collection from 1993.

MaxMara did a gorgeous version for F/W 06.07 I think it was. I randomly got an Italian magazine I'm not sure what it's about but it features a ****load of MaxMara, S' MaxMara and Weekend stuff and well, they show a load of outfits with that elegant DcMartens version.

I know this thread is about DocMartens but just as these MaxMara boots are pretty similar to Docs I hope it's okay to post these pics:
