Jumpsuits S/S 09

"Jumpsuits! Jumpsuits! Jumpsuits!"-As reported by Natalie Massenet on style.com and featured as a "look of the day".
I love them, my group of friends at uni call them "Onesies", which include the cropped shorts variety as well as the traditional jumpsuits.
I've picked up on heaps of them this week as shown below. (And for the purposes of this thread, I'm referring to the long full piece jumpsuits)

i agree with disco, i'm mainly into halston, derek lam, and the first one made by ADAM.
the only problem with these is that i don't think they're exactly flattering on any type of body shape but tall and skinny.

^^^^^^^^^ yeah thats true , and the fitting of the jumpsuit should be right , I personally like the more rayon utility wide leg styled jumpsuits from the mid 70s rather than silk/jersey ones because they were less flimsy and gave your figure a long linear line with full sleeves .and in black look amazing.

The Halston ones are fabulous!! Since the jumpsuit is going to be back I assume that the romper will be as well.

More Proenza Schouler

I do commend designers such as Proenza Schouler because they are quite an ambitious tricky piece to pull off.

More jumpsuits popping up, a preferred alternative of maxi dresses imo

Short jumpsuits are always known as rompers to me. Jumpsuits have pant legs below the ankles (so even Bermuda-type short legs are rompers) to me. So I cringe a bit at calling rompers as jumpsuits. I usually cringe at certain new twists to fashion concepts like (for example) high-waisted mini skirts. Some of these jumpsuits are more overalls than traditional jumpsuits. Post #2 has some of my favorite jumpsuits in this thread. The Miss Sixty number in Post #4 is funky cool with its mix of brown, (I guess) turquoise, and pink. Most of you know I have no problem with wide legs and lovely flares. Beautiful for me would be a palazzo jumpsuit which has the flare of a lovely dress while still having the comfort of pants.

The uncertainty I have is if jumpsuits could ever catch on in casual (or at least semi-formal) fashion. Since Houston isn't really a fashion hotbed, I wonder about fashion made hot elsewhere impact here since some trends are slow to develop here. Can casual jumpsuits ever catch on with femmes between the ages of 13 to 40?
