Right now it's one of the few connecting threads at NY fashion week. It's a strange color to zero in on considering how shaky the market is....
Carolina Herrera
Chris Benz
DKNY

I've stated in the "Trends We Love" thread that I was strangely attracted to yellow for Spring and Summer. Most of that related to bright yellow colors. I love rich colors. Most of these other colors, however, are more like lemon yellow. You know, less saturated yellow colors. I don't really like less-saturated colors that much.
The Carolina Herrera dress in Post #1 would be beautiful in almost any color. You know a garment looks great when it can be in almost any color and look beautiful all the while. The DKNY number is maybe my favorite unsaturated yellow-colored garments. The Marc Jacobs jacket and dress shirt (Post #2) is more like gold. The color is lovely. The gold color is kind of like the gold with West Virginia University and University of California (Berkley, CA). I like the shorts and pumps from Chris Benz in Post #1.
Every other picture I haven't mentioned, I don't really like the yellow colors there. I mostly like rich yellow colors or golden yellow colors.
I LOVE yellow! It's great to see the pops here in there in some of the collections so far.. but the yellow at Marc Jacobs is by far the best. The dark, rich yellow is divine. It fits in with his whole colour scheme so perfectly! I can't get enough

Given the timing, it's interesting that so many designers used yellow in their collections. And very fitting as well since, after all, yellow represents fear, cowardice and hazard.
It's more likely that designers wanted to use optimistic, vibrant color, but you've gotta love those moments when a trend has some actual depth to it.

Today, I saw this femme that shows that these pale yellow colors can look very lovely. This one femme was wearing this yellow dress. What made her look stand out to me was that she was wearing cute black ballet flats along with very tall black socks. It was a lovely blend of the pale yellow color as well as offsetting the lighter yellows with black. It was a lovely look. I still have been attracted to yellow for the warm seasons, but mostly rich and vibrant yellow colors rather than unsaturated yellow colors like some of the yellows in this thread.
