Be Sensible! Collars S/S 09

The stiff formality of the buttoned up collar.
I can really see this trend being totally fun, mixing and matching to contrast.

I don't think I've ever seen any top with collars I haven't liked. Having said this, it's very likely I'm not going to hate these collar designs if at all. The romantic approach to button-down tops/tunics/dresses is to unbutton those buttons from the neckline on down. Now I can see why this is entitled "Be Sensible!" because this offers a nice look with fully-buttoned tops and shirts. I kind of go against this because I'm so used to unbuttoning the first one or two buttons. I wear a lot a polo shirts. So I don't feel very comfortable having the top button buttoned up. Maybe I have some resentment because I'm a guy who wears a lot of casual polos. I am also used to seeing femmes in career dress shirts that are somewhat unbuttoned.

This could be its own trend among casual and formal types. However, I don't know how well this trend would sell among casual buttoned tops and dresses.

Well it's a typically sensible trait, which, I think is rather rare on women these days, save with school uniforms.
I also get this eighties sort of feel from it; like the long, flowing silk shirts buttoned up to the neck that was quite a trend with men twenty years ago.
