A sampling of the looks from Etro F/W 2008 RTW.
They had the boots in several colours:

Fendi F/W 2008 RTW
Seems like some designers are doing a variation of the thigh-high boot by presenting it in different materials, textures and colours.

Just to show another take on this trend, the way thigh-high boots were styled in the Marni F/W 2003 RTW is a top favourite of mine.
It showed that thigh-high boots can not only be severe/rocker-chick/sexy/tough but also fun, whimsical and feminine.

As you can all see, I have thigh-high boots on my brain this hot August day!

they look nice, but i feel like you'd need very long, lean legs to pull off this look. :T

Some of the boots are not bad. But if I ever tried wearing them I think I would end up looking like a stripper.

I love over-the-knee boots, I wear them often during the winter:

I think the key is not to wear them with anything too short or too tight.

I'm OBSESSED these Margiela ones, on Carine:

I LOVE over the knee boots. Love love love! Though I'm not so sure about the materials on some of these.

When I first thought of thigh-high boots, I normally think of... well, I can't say on here. I've never really liked thigh-high boots. Not even wearing a dress or a decent-length tunic would go well with these. Ankle boots can be lovely. Knee-high boots are just right and just tall enough. Thigh-high is an extreme and almost too difficult to put a style together around. This is another one of those styles best left for the runway and not various stores. Here's a simple breakdown for me...

If you're going to wear boots that extend above the knees, better go with longer bottoms or a longer dress. Avoid ANYTHING that doesn't extend to mid-thigh at most. And I think if you're going to wear bottoms or footwear covering up 3/4 of your legs, why not wear long pants or a long skirt while shying away from these boots? These thigh-highs are a definite fail. Why wear much taller boots when you could wear longer, warmer bottoms instead to stay warm in colder times?

Over-the-knee boots (like in Post #70) are okay, but I'd still stick to knee-highs if I were a femme. On a positive note, those are some hot boots to wear for when temperatures are anything but hot. Those are some killer heels as well. The way those boots are style make them look more like a pair of leather flats with a spike (almost drill-like) heel mated to a tall boot cover. Interesting-looking boots to me.
