It is the most difficult decision facing Wayne Rooney since he quit his native Merseyside for Manchester United: how to cope with four wedding invitations in two days.
The England striker and girlfriend Coleen McLoughlin have been handed an etiquette nightmare by being asked to four footballers' weddings today and tomorrow.

The couple are thought to be the only ones invited to all four in the ultimate WAG weekend for English football.
Chelsea captain John Terry and Toni Poole marry today at Blenheim Palace; tomorrow Manchester United captain Gary Neville weds Emma Hadfield, Steven Gerrard ties the knot with Alex Curran, and Michael Carrick marries Lisa Roughead.
The overlapping weddings are to be a £4 million bonanza for glossy magazines with hundreds of guests celebrating at stately homes and Gary Neville's country pile.
But they gave Rooney a nightmare decision. The prospect of attending three weddings tomorrow using helicopters between the home counties, the Midlands and Manchester proved too much.
So he will miss the Gerrard nuptials and go to Carrick's post-wedding barbecue on Sunday.
"Wayne is mates with all four and he would love to be at all four weddings," said a friend. "He and Coleen have been buying gifts and outfits but it is impossible for him to be at all of them. There are no snubs, or preferences."
Other England stars are set to attend the Terry and Neville weddings, including Rio Ferdinand and Sol Campbell, as well as Manchester United's Welsh winger Ryan Giggs.

Groom: John Terry, 26, Chelsea captain
Bride: Toni Poole, 24, Terry's childhood sweetheart who shuns nightclubs in favour of looking after their one-year old twins Georgie John and Summer Rose.
Kick-off: 4pm today
Ground: Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire
Match highlights: The couple have asked guests to give them gift vouchers from Harrods rather than presents. They have an exclusive deal with OK! magazine.

Groom: Gary Neville, 32, Manchester United captain
Bride: Emma Hadfield, 24, holistic therapy student who met Neville in 2004.
Kick-off: Tomorrow afternoon
Ground: Manchester Cathedral, followed by reception at the couple's estate at Bradshaw, Bolton, which was still undergoing renovation two months ago.
Match highlights: Guests expected to stick to the theme of red, white and black - Manchester United's colours.
Turning up later
Groom: Michael Carrick, 25, Manchester United midfielder
Bride: Lisa Roughead, 25, a university-educated Pilates instructor. They started dating at school in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear
Kick-off: Tomorrow afternoon
Ground: Church in Wymondham, near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, followed by reception at nearby Stapleford Hall. Barbecue on Sunday.
Match highlights: Guests include Liverpool striker Peter Crouch and girlfriend Abby Clancy. Hello! magazine offered a £200,000 deal.
Regretfully declined
Groom: Steven Gerrard, 27, Liverpool captain
Bride: Alex Curran, 24, former nail technician who met Gerrard at a nightclub and is mother of his two children, Lilly-Ella, three, and Lexie, one.
Kick-off: 1.40pm tomorrow
Ground: Cliveden, Berkshire
Match highlights: Alex has been to Paris for fittings of her couture Dior dress and has undergone microdermabrasion facials and tanning treatment. The party in the great hall will go on until 3.30am, with bacon butties and chips served.
