i have a number of questions and it would be greatly appreciated for any information on any of the following??

www.301models.com in miami? which would be the best 3 in miami?

www.bareface.com in dubai? does anyone know what the $US is doing there work wise? can you make money?

and in london, which agencies are better for high end commercial? like, not too commercial, but not high fashion if that makes sense? im thinking next or premier or independant. which would be better.??

I can only speak for London... I'd say Next, Storm and Independent are pretty good for the high-end Commercial... and they really look after their girls too so would be worth visiting them first... Maybe try Models1 and Select too... Best of luck!!

Daily News
Ford Models Founder Jerry Ford Dies

Jerry FordPhoto: Patrick McMullan

Jerry Ford, who founded the Ford Modeling Agency with his wife, Eileen, in 1946, died Sunday at the age of 83 in Morristown, New Jersey. His daughter Katie Ford told the New York Times the cause of death was complications from endocarditis, or inflammation of the heart. Ford is credited with turning modeling into a true profession and establishing the business practices by which it operates today. He introduced a system for collecting fees for models and agents. He also was the first to create contracts for models to exclusively represent certain brands and earn much higher fees. Lauren Hutton signed the first such contract negotiated by Ford with Revlon in 1974. Ford's agency managed the biggest models for decades, including Christie Brinkley, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Brooke Shields. In the book Model: The Ugly Business of Beautiful Women by Michael Gross, Ford says, "I’m not from New York. I thought models were the most incredible things in the world.” Jerry Ford, 83, Man Behind the Models, Dies [NYT]

Anyone interested in contributing to this list of non-scam agencies in NYC? And if you see a scam agency in my list, please correct!

In no particular order:

Elite
MC2
Next
VNY
Re:Quest
Ford
Wilhelmina
Boss
Q
IMG
NY Model Management
Fusion
iD
Click
Major
One
CESD (though mainly a bigwig in the commercial world, still send out for high fashion)
Code
DNA
Marilyn
Supreme
Women
Red
Muse
Basic
Bloom
Trump

Obvi, not all on the same level, but as far as I know, all should be legit. Additions/corrections...NYC only please!

Does anyone know if Roman left Elite?
And if he did, where he ended up?

I know he's been a bit prone to jump around ever since he left Women for Elite a few years back....

I heard Roman is at DNA now (by the way he was at elite forever before he went to Women). And Chris Gay is at Marilyn!

As for Roman it's not true, he is not. It's a lengthy process to get from one agency to another. He wasn't a booker, he was a new face director if you remember. And there should have been lots of articles in his contract about being unable to communicate with the models from Elite, being unable to use the previous scouting resources etc... Now it's a job for his lawers... Lots of people are waiting for his move now...
