Gucci Loves NY!

i think this is so beyond stupid.....

Quote:
Never mind the supersize Gucci strongholds in Tokyo and Milan. The company's biggest store ever---at 46,000 sq. ft., about the size of the average Safeway---is opening in Trump Tower in New York this February. The glassy façade of the three-floor space was designed by architect James Carpenter, who did a similar job on the Time Warner Center and 7 World Trade Center. But Gucci creative director Frida Giannini gest the credit for the rest of the design---plus the store's two exclusive collections: the "Gucci Hearts New York" Collection (bag pictured) and the archive-inspired "Heritage" Collection, which includes hard-sided crocodile luggage.

...doesn't coach have a "heritage" line, too?

It really does Kim

Do they really need a store that big?

Ale - Coach does have a Heritage line too...I found it on their website.

This bag isn't even worth of Canal St. These look like the souvenir bags I see in the shop on 34th.

That's a freakin insult to NY!

Cringe worthy.

I still haven't gotten over the fact that they're leaving the already gorgeous 5th ave. store. This new one will probably be overblown floral wallpaper in Crayola colors and checkered marble floors or something equally heinous.

ahahahaha I kind of like the bag it's kitsch and no different really than the richard prince thing happening at LV. Anyway I find the size of store just too big.

Wait until you see the bag in person... The emblem is so tacky and the quality of the print is terrible. It looks like a knockoff.

I've seen the store interior concepts. It is tragically caught somewhere between the LV store on 5th and the Tom Ford's Gucci stores, but in gold. I wanted to weap when I first saw the plans.

Oh, and there will be floor-to-ceiling runway posters throughout.

Is it just me or does it look like one of those iron-on pictures that they just slapped on a bag? I'm pretty sure I'll find this will end up at the flea market in a couple of weeks for $75.50.
