^Agreed!

I'm lucky that my Mom sends me clothes she no longer wants/wears & since she wears classics they are perfect for me. I've only purchased new boots & a vintage bag for the Fall Season. I will also purchase some 3-pack Grey & White Men's Hanes T-shirts at Target.

I've been hitting up thrift stores a lot more than I used to which is actually a good thing. I've found a lot of awesome stuff for a steal.

Banana Republic is my new BFF

Really, my 4-5 piece French wardrobe method is perfect in good times & bad Pretty much every piece you buy should be high impact, especially accessories. I don't have many things, but nearly all of them are great.

Retail therapy is not your friend. It's important to find another way to treat yourself that doesn't involve buy weird, expensive things you will never wear ...

great thread ta-ta! it's certainly something on my mind recently.

for me, it's really a matter of just buying less. period. something i've always struggled with. first thing i'm doing is to stop obsessively checking every online store i love. too many temptations out there.

another thing i've been doing is trying to wait until the sales for things i feel are out of my budget. i had some great success in the spring (like a yohji yamamoto cardigan for 65% off!).

i also would like to begin sewing again, but we'll see how that goes!!

and just appreciating all the nice things i already have.

only buy things that you can pair with many items you already have in your wardrobe and make sure that they are pieces you can see yourself still wearing in 5 years. that's my mantra anyway. Its better to spend more money on 1 fantastic item than a few different "okay" item too.

Hey, who am I to judge what's weird I just mean, if you yourself think it's weird a few days later, but don't return it, just let it hang there collecting dust ...

No more impuls shopping...!

Buying less, the things that I buy should be thing I really love and have great quality so they can last long.
When I have less to spend I tend to go for more basic pieces.
Make sure it fits with what I already have.
Sale, even more then usual .
The shops I go to pretty much stay the same, but I never go to really expensive places anyway .
