A Danish fashion designer, who, with the women’s wear collections that she has created in her own name since 2001, has made simple and humoristic clothes with quaint details and naïve cartoonlike prints and applications, patchworks and embroideries her trademark. Clothes that do not chase the latest trends but adhere to the whims of the designer’s invented Muse Kirsty, who, in Anna’s imagination, every six months gets a job at a new place in time and space, which of course requires a new wardrobe.
Anna Gulmann’s desire to draw and tell stories via the costumes of everyday life has also caught the interest of exhibitors. She has exhibited in Japan, Berlin, London, Glasgow, Switzerland and Copenhagen.
I was just building up a negative opinion while scrolling down and then, voilà!, post #5!... I'm in love with nearly everything in there, from the postcard skirt, the pleats, patchwork and black trousers.. brain-candy quota of the day has been accomplished..
you know,i have to say,the presentation is quite alot like Freudenthal Verhagen's collaborations with Bernhard! Those first set of images are an awful lot like the "spoonful of sugar" collection look-book.
but everything is generally quite nice. A bit Eley Kishimoto/Antoni & Alison/Peter Jensen. maybe lacks the sharpness that i tend to be attracted to....saccharine,indeed.
merci beacoup,lovely
