beautiful people

Quote:

that garment must definitely be for kids. but when putting all doubt aside for a second and slipping into it, the piece miraculously fits perfectly. the strange but pleasant feeling of bewilderment that follows is what the magic of Beautiful People is all about.

along the " kids " series of clothes for 5-years-old girls, this time they present a new " teen " series, targeting 11-year-old girls. the subtle sensation of comfortable fit has something rather child-like, and at once something rather feminine to it. the brand's typical " attempts to combine contradicting elements " exquisitely reflect the complex emotional world of teenagers.

contrary to their creative ideas, design-wise the brand always operates on a standard level, and with the accuracy of tailors when it comes to details. " rather than creating garments that disappear after just one season, what I have in mind is to achieve a sort of quality that my children can wear once they've grown up. in terms of design, things that look familiar but on closer inspection reveal details that are somehow different strike me as most convincing."

supplementation:

the kids series are womens clothes in 5 years old kids' size.
strictly speaking, they are meant to be the clothes you could share with a kid of 5-9.
that is, kids' coats, jackets, etc for womens short coats/jackets with half or more than half sleeves.
they have been doing the series for four seasons.
it's what they are known for.
and this season they produced "teens line" which is seemingly 10-14 years old kids' clothes you could also wear if you are okay with about three-quarter sleeves.

they shoud not be the first one who did this kind of idea.
but the quality seems to be the most serious ever.
this collective of beautiful people consists of four men and three women.

...at hanne..

thanks runner...

it's funny..because when i looked at the pics i thought that they looked like adult clothing...
especially the last pic...with the trench coats, etc...

then i read what you wrote and it made sense!...

*i often look at the pics without reading at first...
in order to get a more objective perspective without having any outside influences...

cute idea, but if the designs don`t back it up then it just seems more like a gimmick.
Beautiful People had their SS09 collection show on Friday at Zel....

I loved the models` hair and makeup... but the clothes were quite yawn-inducing..even from a sub-standard wearablility standpoint. Pink tweed and upturned cuffs on what I assume is to be work clothing just looked yucky. Even my guest, who takes tons of pics at shows kept her camera down.

One of the two little girls was styled stupendously in white pajamas/blouse with colored scarves.

Its too bad, I was hoping to see what the hype about the brand was...

I think some of the conceivable customers here would be mothers such as had experienced what was called DC brands in the mid 80's and then in the late 80's had been dressed like yuko asano on campus in the clothes they got at ships, whose husbands used to shop at back drop or something, driving around in a golf in those days, maybe.
so basically you cannot expect them to satisfy the eyes of those who like dresscamp, somarta, etc.
