I'm so puzzled. I can't decide at all whether I like it or not... on the other hand I love the prints (and the set!) but I wish the clothing, in terms of fit and shape, would have been a tad bit different. I am bored of just bunching the fabric up in an empire-style or, when it comes to coats and trousers, making them so wide and big that it looks like two persons could fit in.
But I so want to like it... the first dress in #35 has stolen my heart, as have the prints. I am waiting for this to slowly grow on me, I really hope it does!
Oh, and post scriptum: so much better than Marras's own collection.
I'm such a huge fan of Marras' Keonzo! And while I don't love this quite as much as FW 08, I still really like this. I especially love the gowns...the closing look is stunning! I can't wait for a video...Antonio always puts on an incedible show!
Marras surely must be feeling the love this season . Both of his shows have been exquisite in construction and so beautiful and rich in detailing.. the timeless romanticism is reminiscent of old Blumarine ads, the ideas behind these garments are part of this season but the result very much belongs to any period of time.
What a beautiful and stunning collection. I've not really paid that much attention to Kenzo but this is just jawdropping. The prints are beautiful and I love the way he mixed them. I love the sweet 70's influence but it's not trite. Then you get a bit of sort of Edwardian jackets or what have you and then the angles on the dresses and the detailing. So so beautiful.
Marras has a Lacroix like ability to mix prints, textures and embellishments with such easiness and such lightness...though, Marras does it in a more folksy, heirloom way.
