I'm sorry, I really don't see what's so bad about this. It's sleek and modern with a perfect amount of androgynous sex appeal to it. It looks like some sort of chic funeral in the future. It's so aggresively seductive...I can't get over it. Strong, re-defined femininity.
I like it! I mean...it does have a slightly Tisci for Givenchy feel...but I think quite of bit of this is beautiful, sexy, androgynous...and I like the tattoos...
Of course it can look cool on models with the right styling - but who would want to wear those shorts in real life? It seems nobody spent much time designing this collection.
these are some really badly ill-fitting suit jackets over there. leave designing menswear-inspired womenswear to taralis who does not neglect the female form while cutting a great tux jacket for women.
Those jackets look like the oversized mannish jackets that Alexander Wang churns out (the pushed up sleeves don't help.)
Ultimately a lot of these clothes look like the kind of thing you could make without ever needing to drape a pattern, you could draft most of it on paper.

This would not be so bad if it was made by some young designer as his debut collection for NYC fashion week. Then it could be understood... ill-fitting clothing, nothing exciting or new to see. You'd just shrug your shoulders and wish he'll develop in his craft as he gets more experience.
But from someone as hyped as Kris Van Assche, and showing in Paris, you would expect much more. There's nothing appealing in here, to me.
ppl are so harsh criticizing Kris, i dont see the reason for it... i dont think u can doubt his creativity, this collection has its own place, and has its own buyer,
afterall his speciality is menswear so i dont see the need for such strong views over his womenswear collections...
Adrogyny is a good thing, but in this case, I'm not so fond of this collection. I can't see a woman wearing many of these piece because it doesn't give an outright lovely appeal to me-- it's like as though the designer had a relative whim and didn't put a lot of asthetic and heart in. But, it is a little dominant and sexy in a way, something I miss from seasons ago.
