ooh...this person was sitting directly behind me (my hat!)...I have some photos but they are also small and blurry, and wrote a little bit...

[One look at the guests sitting in the two rows of chairs, or the folks standing (usually friends, customers, and stylists. Dont ask me. I was never invited to shows when I was just styling!) and you can feel their coolness oozing. And as for dressing well, buyers win hands down.
The venue itself was outside; at the Prince Chichibu Rugby Stadium Hall, held right outside the stadium entrance. The lights were all dizzyingly red…but very moody. Very Ys.
The collection was titled “LOVE + HATE” and it was very militaristic, very French Confederate berets and all. Not to mention completely RED. Hence the name Ys Red Label. I can see the editors getting into a tissy when in a few seasons, designer Michiko Suzuki sends out a bright blue shirt.
The collection had a great sampling of jackets and pants; made of a stiff felt-like wool. And I didn’t get to see it up close so I’m not 100% sure, but they probably used a technique to fuse panels together rather than by stitching them for a more 3-d shape of the clothes (which i did see up close at the Mila Schon collection tonight. It looks very comfortable to wear and without seams to come undone) As an example, there were those pants with drop-crotches and a horseshoe-like panel in the back that reminds me of a baseball mitt.
In the end, all of the models came out at once in white distressed cotton daydresses and coats- it had an angelic effect. A relief, since the war-like rattatat-tat drums the models marched to was a bit unsettling. Ys is certainly the hottest ticket in Tokyo's fashion scene now.
the models look almost beautifully paranormal in those photos. even though it was probably not the intention but it gives a nice mood to the creations. i love the use of the red and black as that's one of my favourite combinations.

misahoi what did you mean by the fusing gave more of a 3-dimensional affect?
do you mean that the panels were so stiff...?
are there any outfits in the photos here that have what you mention?
