with their new album out in stores and their songs being overplayed in those repulsive Clear Channel stations, their fan base keeps growing and growing.. and we need a home, for us good decent oldies.. and also for the n00bs :P

my friend who told me about them in the first place has been going on and on about the new record...it sounds a lot like the first one from what i've herad...which is only a bit that he played for me just now...but that's not a bad thing..

as he puts it.."they may have just one trick, but it's a damn good trick..."

thanks mulletproof...

I actually just heard them for the first time when they were on Leno a week or two ago (I don't listen to the radio), then I listened to clips from all their songs on both albums. I wasn't watching the TV screen at first, and I thought Ian Curtis had risen from the grave and Joy Division was back together on The Tonight Show. The singer actually tries to make his voice sound more like Ian Curtis than it does (vocal tics in intonation and inflection, obviously on purpose). Such a distasteful ripoff of a great, original band, in my opinion. They have talent for sure, but I wish they'd really develop their own true sound. They're famous for being Joy Division clones. Everything I've read about them in the press has been strictly about Joy Division. Maybe I should rip off a deceased band or singer and pretend like I created their sound. Nick Drake maybe?

a friend of mine gave me "turn on the bright lights," which i loved. i went out on day 1 and got antics and even got my cd signed by them (they were at the virgin megastore in SF).

I'm going to the show at the warfield on 10.25 i can't wait to see them live...i just love the music, lyrics, everything.

no problem. Maybe you could give them a go some other time.. sometimes clips of songs are not enough for music or any sort of art, it takes time to dig into them and listen to the entire work carefully

I so want to buy their new album, Antics. Unfortunately, in the Philippines, record stores have a surplus on Buble and novelty albums while there is not one album of artists like The Libertines or Interpol.
