Keane

hopes and fears is their first album..
just got it...
going to seee them next month...

don't know much about them...
music is basically a keyboard, drums and soaring vocals...
i guess their british...

i get a more catchy, poppy version of travis vibe from them...

This song it means so much to me,it happened to be there just in the exact moment when the lytics were a real life story....

When you, when you forget your name
When old faces all look the same
Meet me in the morning, when you wake up
Meet me in the morning, then you'll wake up

If only I don't bend, and break
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning, when you wake

Bitter and hardened heart
Aching, waiting for life to start
Meet me in the morning, when you wake up
Meet me in the morning, then you'll wake up

If only I don't bend, and break
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning, when you wake

If only I don't bend, and break
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning, when you wake

I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning, when you wake

i think that's a pretty universal emotion ball...

we've all felt that way at some points in our lives...

Not (ahem) keen softie. Everybody Changes and Somewhere Only We Know are the only two decent songs on the album in my book, although they are both very good. I remember being really dissappointed with it whan I bought it on the strength of those two songs. I literally can't listen to any of the others. Everybody Changes is very like The Man Who era Travis though. V similar to Writing to Reach You I think.

I agree. Everyone seems to be going crazy for Keane right now, but I wasn't impressed when I took a listen to the album. Somewhere Only We Know is a really great song, but the others didn't seem to measure up. I don't know, maybe I need to take another listen....

Yep, that they are. To be more specific, they're scottish.

I really like their album and imo they're a lot better than some of the bands out there at the moment.

I love Keane! I was a little surprised when I heard that "Somewhere Only We Know" was in a Victoria's Secret commercial, but power to them! Right now, I'm really stuck on "This Is The Last Time". I really respect them for doing the alternative thing without guitars and all, that's pretty tough- and also for putting a less cynical spin to it. Flowers for Keane ... I think the lead singer is very charming...

more melodic i think...

i know someone else who really doesn't like them either...
he compares them to coldplay...but i also really like coldplay...
hmmm...so what do you currently like johnny?...

and thanks kalista...
didn't know they were scottish...

I burned some of thier songs on a CD last fall and listened to it all the time. Than I guess I got kind of sick of them. I don't mind them though. And I love the song "She says she has no time."
