Music for Halloween

in the spirit of the season, what's your mood or theme driven soundtrack/playlist?

....something other than monster mash,of course

Mine-
Horse and I
-Bat for Lashes
Howl(promo)

Spooky-Dusty Springfield(dunno really why as it's not much to with halloween in mood but the title and the lyrics seem fitting for me)

Rippin Kittin-Golden Boy with Miss Kittin

Danse Macabre Op40-Saint Saens

Lovely Head-Goldfrapp(like something baroque meeting 'the cabinet of dr. caligari)

Slippage-Goldfrapp(very creepy, sexy song that conjures up images from 'creature from the black lagoon',for some reason)

Waking the Witch-Kate Bush

Main Title/Lullaby-Komeda and Mia Farrow from 'Rosemary's Baby' Sdtrk.

Peek-a-Boo-Siouxsie and the Banshees(though one could argue, many Banshees tracks could qualify for such a thing...just one of my favourites)

Suspiria Main Title-Goblin from 'Suspiria' sdtrk.

definitely the Suspiria soundtrack! for Siouxsie and the Banshees i also really like "Kiss Them For Me" because it's really a creepy song when you find out that it's about Jayne Mansfield.
  • Cat Power - Werewolf (this is beautiful and has a perfect mood)
  • Belly - Low Red Moon
  • PJ Harvey - Plants and Rags, Man Size Sextet (i love the strings) and pretty much anything from To Bring You My Love
  • Rollingstones - Paint it Black
  • Tori Amos - Happy Phantom
  • Night on Bald Mountain

Lullaby by The Cure and Jeepster by T-Rex...

Besides that can't think of any separate tracks at this moment in time, unforunately. Though for sheer yet inviting eerieness, I'd say - Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Siouxsie and The Banshees and though completely unrelated, Billie Holiday's 'Strange Fruit' always leaves me quite shaken...

Lydia Lunch - Queen of Siam
Diamanda Galas - Plague Mass (terrifying)
Cinema Strange - self-titled
Shadow Project - Dreams for the Dying (esp. track 7, Holding You Close)
Nico - The Marble Index

I find Car Chase Terror by M83 terrifying.
And Run by Air is creepy too. But, I still LOVE both of these!
