and if so, what did you think of it?
its got to be my favorite album purchase of 04-i got it the day it came out and listened to nothing else for almost three weeks straight.
fave songs: do re mi, the other improv, blandest, and the acoustic 'rape me'
im not finished listening to it yet...when i am i am going to review it and post it in this forum..... ive listened to disc one and watched the dvd.....
its a big thing for me cuz im such a fanatic! its definatly for us and not for semi fans. the only disapointment was on the dvd...i would have liked to see their album videos.....the sub pop version of 'in bloom' had its funny moments but no where near the later version ( such a classic!!! here they are....nrrrr vaana!)
the liner notes are killer too.....the essay from thurston moore was perfect...warm and touching and i completely respect him, he always was/is so enthusiastic over nirvana and kurt, i think he truly understood nirvana, and this box set is for those who feel the same. i love all the little press sheets kurt would hand write himself......he was so funny quotes such as... "maybe we will sign with disney , buy a drum machine , or get phil collins...." it makes me laugh that many younger people who werent around or didnt pay attention to nirvana think kurt was some whiny, poor me type of guy, but i will always remember how funny and clever he was..so witty...so endearing and charming. nirvana had such an amazing energy....
i have to say the leadbelly covers ....breathtaking. also the led zep covers are a jam. seriously another "kurt moment" that had me smile was the intro to heartbreaker . hearing someone yell out there request for the led zeppelin cover then hearing an annoyed kurt reply.." but i dont know how to play it!!"
i cant wait to listen to the rest.....i really am paying attention and relishing every song....
thanks for the topic, angel... stay tuned for my review!!

Load up on guns and bring your friends
It's fun to lose and to pretend
She's over bored and self assured
Oh no, I know a dirty word
Hello, hello, hello, how low? (x3)
Hello, hello, hello!
With the lights out, it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My libido
Yay! (x3)
I'm worse at what I do best
And for this gift I feel blessed
Our little group has always been
And always will until the end
Hello, hello, hello, how low? (x3)
Hello, hello, hello!
With the lights out, it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My libido
Yay! (x3)
And I forget just why I taste
Oh yeah, I guess it makes me smile
I found it hard, it's hard to find
Oh well, whatever, nevermind
Hello, hello, hello, how low? (x3)
Hello, hello, hello!
With the lights out, it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My libido
A denial! (x9)

I love all the songs they never play on the radio. This band justified my rebelious guitar playing teenage years. When You Know You're Right was released, it was 10+ years old and still sounded fresher than anything on at the time.
