Punk Attitude - a documentary

best documentary on the ny and london punk rock scene i have ever seen...
it covers everything in chronological order...late 70's...
puts everything in perspective...
explains what punk is, how it came about and then how it evolved...
told by the artists who made it happen...

ie-souixsie...chrissy hynde...members of the ramones...members of the buzzcocks...members of the ny dolls...malcom mcclaren...members of the clash...

and loads of incredible live footage......
clash, sex pistols, lou reed, blondie, generation x, on and on...

playing on IFC this month...look for it!!......

**** the film is dedicated to joe strummer...

me too...i've seen it twice now and it was definitely better the second time...
it's so much info to absorb and all these bands you have heard of (or maybe not) that were never part of the mainstream...but who formed the basis for what eventually would become nirvana, greenday, etc...

it's just great!!!.....

This sounds a lot like 'The Filth and the Fury,' a movie I saw on IFC over the summer. It is all about the Sex Pistols meteoric rise and tragic fall from glory. It has a whole lot about Vivienne Westwood, which was reason enough for me to watch it.

i saw this a while ago and while i agree about the beginnings of it, it gets really, really bad towards the end/the latter days of punk...i like the earlier stuff better anyway, but the quality dropped off towards the end i think. it just felt really rushed to me. i liked it, though...it was very informative and the live footage was really, really good...i loved watching it and i wish i could have been there for those shows!
