Actor Charlie Sheen denies abuse charges by ex-wife
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Actor Charlie Sheen on Saturday denied charges from his estranged wife, actress Denise Richards, that he had been abusive towards her and their daughters and had threatened to kill her.
"I move forward and I maintain my integrity ... and focus on my children," Sheen told Entertainment Tonight co-anchor Mark Steines in an interview for the Paramount Pictures Corp. program to be aired on April 24.
On Friday, Sheen was ordered to keep at least 300 feet (90 metres) away from Richards and their two young daughters after the abuse allegations were made in court papers.
The restraining order is the latest chapter in the stormy marriage between Sheen, a one-time playboy, and model/actress Richards, 35, who filed for divorce from him last December, after less than three years of marriage.
Sheen, star of the hit CBS television series "Two and a Half Men," told Entertainment Tonight Richards' filing is a "heinous document of fiction."
"I'm deeply saddened because this is clearly demonstrating a wanting and wilful attempt at what I describe as a radical and transparent smear campaign and clearly a departure from sound, sane, responsible co-parenting," Sheen said.
"It is a reaction to a failed marriage, a reaction to some twisted desire -- real or imagined -- to hurt, to punish, to discredit, to completely torpedo, to undermine my perception as a responsible father ... a contributing father, a guy who would give his life for his children." Sheen was reacting to Richards' written declaration that she could "no longer accept (his) abusive and threatening manner and must stop him from the cycle of his abuse towards me and our children and his continued threats of violence and statements that he is going to kill me."
Richards is "the only one entirely culpable for putting these radical allegations out for public consumption ... my children included," Sheen told Entertainment Tonight.
Richards also alleged Sheen, son of actor Martin Sheen, abused prescription drugs, gambled compulsively, frequented prostitutes and liked to look at pornography on the Internet.

that last sentence.. i don't know if it's true but that sounds like she is keen on piling **** on him. "he likes to look at pornography on the internet" - come on.. if every woman would want to talk bad about her ex-husband they could probably go and tell entertainment tonight he liked pornography (what a surprise.. he is a man.) but i'm glad not every one does.
actually i just wanted to know if there was a conviction or not. i got carried away.

I read a more detailed article about this and she claims he looked at gay and underage porn. That certainly sets it apart.
I think this is all so sad, and I am a bit bummed because I love "Two and a Half Men" but am not sure I can watch it the same way again. I don't get why if all this is true, it did not come out before this. It's no secret that Charlie has an obsession with hookers, so these allegations added to that do not make his image look so hot right now.

I'm also very conservative in a way though, I don't feel that porn of any variety has any place in a committed relationship, and that it's disrespectful and damaging to humanity and the soul. Of course, your mileage may vary, and if BOTH partners decide they want it to be part of their lives, it's not my business. I was assuming that if Denise listed porn as a problem in their relationship, it was something she did not approve of, and therefore something Charlie should not be looking at, if he wanted to remain her husband.

If she already knew about the porn before hand then I don't know why she is upset and ready to divorce. But if she just randomly walked in on him watching it or "enjoying himself with it" then that's a different story. I didn't have a problem when my husband watched it because I knew he liked that stuff before we got married. But then when we got married...we trashed his collection.

This is kind of off topic but I have to admit, I've never understood the difference between these two. I think it is revolting when grown men lust after "barely legal schoolgirls" or Girls Gone Wild. It is totally warped and disgusting.
