"In a strange bit of irony, David Duchovny has entered a rehabilitation facility for sex addiction. Duchovny recently starred in The X-Files: I Want to Believe, but his regular paycheck comes from playing a sex-obsessed character on the Showtime series "Californication," which earned the actor a Golden Globe Award in 2008. The show's second season begins September 28. Via his publicist Duchovny released a statement saying, "I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family." The statement made by his lawyer, Stanton "Larry" Stein, to People said, "I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction." Duchovny is married to Tea Leoni who stars in the upcoming flick Ghost Town, but there wasn't any elaboration on the report, which is to say there was no talk of adultry. Leoni and Duchovny have two children."

Oh yes, I do, I thought at the time that he was so so hot, but now i do not find him attractive.

Funny but this "sex addictions" usually involve cheating on the wife, that's why they are so problematic...doctors are still debating if this can be can be considered a "real" addiction, I certainly would buy that as an explanation from my husband.

Of course not, I think that's a pretty good excuse for sleeping around with lots of different women, they usually give this wonderful excuse when they do not have one specific mistress. It's all very convenient in my view.

Didn't he play a character with a sex addiction...I think the movie had Julianna Moore and Billy Crudup in it. I just saw it on HBO...

Anyway two things: First, why would anyone publicly admit something as humiliating as this? He could've went anywhere and no one would've cared! It's not like he is followed by the tabs or paps.

Second, this is very humiliating for his wife. Apparently he has cheated on her for years but still...

I heard on the radio this morning that it was more of a porn addiction.....
that he was spending hours and hours on the internet.
Anyone else hear this?

Though I have heard for years he is a cheater.
He is said to have had an affair with his tennis instructor for one.

But there are also rumors that Tea, his wife, is having a relationship with her costar Billy Bob Thorton.
She has been spotted with him and his band at alot of shows around the US.
Maybe she is just a groupie though.
