Pop singer Justin Timberlake is set to wed actress Cameron Diaz just months after the pair were reportedly splitting.
The former N'Sync singer popped the question the old-fashioned way by going down on one knee and even asked permission from Diaz's parents - and his own mum.
He has already bought the ring from Tiffany's, the Daily Star reported.
Friends are quoted as saying Diaz is "thrilled" at the prospect of marriage.
The proposal comes a year after Timberlake, who is called Trousersnake by friends, began dating Diaz.
He has previously dated pop princess Britney Spears.
The wedding will be discreet, in keeping with the way they have handled their relationship.
They consistently denied an affair until they were photographed kissing during a holiday in Hawaii last year.
Diaz, 31, was reported earlier this year to be dumping the 23-year-old after complaining he was a drag on her career.
She had reportedly moaned she was not being taken seriously by Hollywood because of her relationship with the singer.
Diaz, who is the voice of Princess Fiona in Shrek 2, has trailed Timberlake during much of his recent tour.

the press always have them splitting up, getting back together, getting engaged, him cheating on her, every month. i guess no one really knows what's going on except them and their families, whcih is how it should be.

justin and britney are prob just doin this("marriages") to make each other mad, but hey I dunno or really care...its their life, I say they can do what they want as long as they arent hurting anyone.
justin won't get married bc part of his celebrity is that bachelor image. i'm sure everyone around him will be telling him that. when's the last time we've seen ryan phillipe in anything of note? and is freddy prinze, jr. even working?
