Helen Mirren Turned Down Free Plastic Surgery!

Helen Mirren refused to accept free plastic surgery and Botox injections ahead of the Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

The 61-year-old, winner of Best Actress for her performance as British monarch Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen, received a free pre-Oscars goodie bag containing vouchers for free facial treatments.

But Mirren preferred to attend the event covering her wrinkles with the aid of make-up alone.

She said: "I'm very vain, which initially made playing Elizabeth Windsor in all those tweeds pretty daunting."

"But I'm not fond of all those needles and scalpels. I'll try to get away with make-up, jewellery and a nice frock."

^ WHAT--are they blind? This woman's 61 and still cooler than you! She's a beautiful woman that aged well and she doesn't need it in my opinion.

I should hope she did turn it down - what an insult! She looks brilliant and is a really good example of how to grow old (dis)gracefully!

I would too if I looked that gorgeous at 61.

Considering that she's SIXTY ONE, she looks amazing! She doesn’t need plastic surgery or Botox. Let the woman BE! There are very few women who don't succumb to the whole Oh-I'm-Over-35-I-need-Botox Hollywood brigade. Mirren is a beacon of hope to all the ordinary women who prefer to age naturally and gracefully.

Bless her heart I love it when they buck the "Hollywood machine".

She oozes elegance and cool...

Whoohoo! She's in a great shape and is still beautiful at 61! Good for her, she doesn't need it anyway. Congratulations on her Oscar by the way! She was amazing as The Queen.

Love her.

She's stunning and wonderful to look at; I think she has more 'youthful energy' than Nicole -if-I-try-to-move-my-face-my-mask-will-crack Botox Kidman.

Anyway, she's an actress, a brilliant ACTRESS. Surely it helps that her face actually moves like a face?

This woman I love. She is the perfect example of aging beautifully and gracefully. I think the ones that worry about age and looking old are the ones that end up looking even older than before. She's gorgeous!

Thank you Helen! She looks positively radiant so surgery would only destroy that.
