SEXY Jessica Simpson is stepping out of Daisy Duke’s skimpy hotpants — and into Pamela Anderson’s red bikini.
The actress has landed the key role in the Hollywood remake of the 1990s ITV classic Baywatch.
A source said: “Jessica really caught the eye in The Dukes of Hazzard film last summer. She was the unanimous choice for the Baywatch role.”

Jessica, 25, will play a heroic lifeguard on Venice Beach, California — and may even copy the slow-motion running that made fellas such a fan of 38-year-old Pammi in the Saturday evening show.
The source added: “Jessica has all the assets to make Pammi’s part her own.”
Producers hope David Hasselhoff, 53, who played Lt Mitch Buchannon, will join the cast now Jessica is on board.
if she's putting out a "book of poetry" and a new album and all that . .. she should try and stick to something that could maybe offer a spec of talent.
this movie will be a huge flop anyway, and she'll be admitting herself as nothing more than a dumb blonde. boooooooooooooo.

Back in high school, my sister and I used to watch Baywatch every saturday afternoon, as we did our busywork homework. We unabashedly loved everything about it, except for the vile Stephanie and dumbass Hobie. It was such camp, so enjoyable in a base, moronic way. Such vast amounts of cheesy goodness. Our favorite episode was when the lifeguard tower was taken hostage, and Eddie spent 2/3 of the episode tunneling under the sand so as not to be seen by the hostage takers, painstakingly and heroically making his way to save the day - only to come up about 100 feet from said tower and run in plain view the rest of the way. Shows consistantly THAT stupid and jiggly shouldn't be messed with, and remade, in any capacity. And certainly not in a way that involves Jessica Simpson. CJ was always actually pretty sharp, as far as the Baywatch babes went, and I'm sure Jessica will make her as vacuous and slutty as (I heard) she made Daisy Duke.
