I don't know about anyone else, but I would watch Johnny at age 99 in an infomercial about wheelchairs at 2 am on a Wednesday morning. He better keep it coming long after 50!
Johnny Depp Wants To Quit Films At 50
Pirates Of The Caribbean star Johnny Depp is nearing the end of his acting career, insisting he will not appear on screen after he turns 50.
The 43-year-old heart-throb is concerned that his ageing appearance will affect how he is seen by the public.
He says: "I won't last in film much after I turn 50. People go on about how well I look for my age, but what happens when it all drops? I could end up as the Cliff Richard of film."
That's pretty stupid if it's true. It follows the stereotype that people of a certain age shouldn't be on the big screen, that Hollywood only wants to see youth, youth, youth. At least if you're so talented, and a MAN, one would think you'd use the opportunities that are handed to you so easily.
Johnny should know he gets nominated for awards not because of his looks but because of his talent.
i remember robbie williams said he was gonna retire at 30..and what is he now, 32?, and he's still around unfortunately.
They ALL come back eventually anyway in Hollywood. They retire and then expect us all to make a huge deal when they "come back" to grace us with their presence.
