Karl insults Princess Diana

"She was pretty and she was sweet, but she was stupid," declares Lagerfeld, who apparently never heard about not speaking ill of the dead.

He much prefers Prince Charles' new wife.

"The public does not know who Camilla is," he tells interviewer Vanessa Grigoriadis.

"She is the life of the party! She's sparkling, she's witty, she's ready for everything, and not pretentious, not one bit. If you had to make a choice to live with somebody, this is the one."

If you're wondering why he always wears the shades - it's because he's afraid someone will splash chemicals into his eyes.

He said:

"I cannot go out without something for my eyes, because someone might throw chemicals in my face."

He should really *think* before he speaks. Even if it were the case (it IS true she wasn't academic which definitely does not equal stupidity), come on, why comment at all! It's just so CRASS to make the comparisom between Camilla and Diana. It actually makes me burn with cringy embarrassment.

I respect him as a designer but honestly, his verbal diarrhea is beyond comprehension.

I haven't read the article, but if one is to go around insulting beloved deceased royalty, one may reasonably fear an attack by someone throwing literal vitriol.

Personally, I expect nothing less from Karl and I am more amused than anything else.

I would love to have him and Lou Reed over for a cocktail party.
