Naomi Campbell's punishment: Mopping floors

from cnn.com:

NEW YORK (Reuters) -- British beauty Naomi Campbell will swap her catwalk outfits for a broom, gloves and safety vest when she begins mopping floors at New York's Sanitation Department on March 19, a court official confirmed Tuesday.
But Campbell, who was sentenced to community service as punishment for throwing her mobile phone at her housekeeper, will serve her five-day sentence indoors.
Singer Boy George attracted a media throng when he swept streets in a court-ordered punishment in August.
The New York Post reported Tuesday that Campbell had been assigned to mop floors with other community service workers at a Sanitation Department warehouse in Manhattan. A court official confirmed the story but declined further comment.
Campbell, 36, has been accused by at least three employees of hitting or otherwise assaulting them. She has blamed her temper on lingering resentment toward her father for abandoning her as a child.

Oh my God, they're giving that woman a mop? Imagine the damage Naomi could do with one: she could beat people to death, clean the mess up and no one would ever know

Sorry, I'm in an odd mood today

That's actually quite worrying

Well I can't lie, I am looking forward to the photos of her doing this...

I don't know. I can't stand her but in the day of celebrity exposes, I would be surprised if the people accusing her weren't in it for something other than justice.

It's nice to see celebs actually receive real punishments-- and I think mopping floors with her fellow community service workers is a great alternative to jail time. Though I am glad they're keeping her inside; the madhouse created by Boy George's community service was a little over-the-top.

But I agree with Sienna that some of the other accusations against Naomi seem a little fishy.

Yes and why are people so gleeful she is being punished when Kate Moss seems to get away with blue murder? Is it a size thing, a race thing...? Because there are a lot of double standards in the way people are reacting. Naomi apparently hit people who seemed to throw themselves into her path. I wouldn't be surprised if they deliberately got jobs with her. Kate Moss was funding an industry that leaves dead policeman, prostitution networks and south american gun culture in its wake. And her actions are always popularising ones even down to the bags she owns. It is such nonsense.

SiennaInLondon, apparently you didn't get the memo... Kate Moss is "God"

It's unfortunate really. Her work lately isn't even worthy of her being a supermodel...

Personally I'm gleeful that she'd being punished because a celeb actually having to pay physically for their crime seems unusual in Hollywood. Kate Moss's situation, on the other hand, seems like the norm in Hollywood where celebs go to rehab or pay a dingy fine instead of going to jail or actually doing the community service that they're threatened with. It's not an issue of race (if it was I wouldn't be cheering on Boy George's trash pickup or hoping to God that Paris actually gets sent to jail for driving with a suspended license). Besides, if I recall correctly Kate Moss had her legal issue in the UK while Naomi had hers in the US. Those are two different legal systems handling two different crimes-- maybe if Naomi had hers in the UK she wouldn't be mopping floors (or maybe she would, I don't know the UK legal system).
