Naomi's Charity Catwalk

I read this in Vogue.co.uk

NAOMI'S CHARITY CATWALKSNAOMI CAMPBELL is offering her catwalking services to any New York designer next week so long as they donate her fee to the American Red Cross to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Naomi, whose first ever fashion shoot took place in New Orleans when she was 15-years-old, is determined to donate "every single penny" that she earns during the week to the cause. "It's awful to see what happened and watch grown men crying on TV because they have nothing left," she said. "When I'm looking at this [devastation], it's like I'm looking at Africa or anywhere else in the world but here. It made me think about what I could do to help." Naomi, who charges up to $50,000-per-show and already has at least six booked in for New York Fashion Week, should manage to raise a pretty impressive sum. "There was no way I could walk the runways this week and just keep my [modelling] rate," she said. "It would be fantastic if everyone joined forces to give what they can." (September 8 2005, AM)

Thats really nice of her don't you think? I'm not a big fan of her antics... and I actually don't like her much... but its nice to hear some good things from her once in a while....

That is very very nice...she will probably be doing every show I suppose, but it's for a good cause....and in a sense, everyone wins!

you're probably right well, I suppose if it does some good, it'll be worthwhile even if her motives are selfish

Even if her motives are for her own publicity, and the booking of more shows, it will definelty help out the people in the gulf

I kind of agree with you, Acid, but I still think its a good thing. At least its a positive way for her to win publicity, and will help a lot of people.

I was about to say that. She's doing it to balance out her bitch label and it gives her exposure, which she really needs quite badly, because even Zac Posen scratched her off the list, if Jeremy Scott does...Big trouble in little China...

She's whoring herself to get some promotion ... that way she'll look like goodie-two-shoes and if she doesnt get booked the fault will be on the designers ... I cant stand her!

(IF she's doing it to promote herself... its sickening to use death and hunger and misery in order to get popularity -or eventually, $$$-)

She's going to deliver the money to the people and then beat up a few of them, no?
