Natalie Portman has topped a new style list, beating best pals Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz. The Closer actress has been named number one on the InStyle magazine Style 20. Portman topped the list because "she exhibits unwavering faith in the cut and quality of a great dress."
I am trying the 'live and let live' approach to life! On account of my therapist. So i am not going to take it personally that Natalie Portman is number one whilst Cate Blanchette languishes at 8. I'll just accept that people have different taste to me.
InStyle is a rubbish fashion magazine and this list reflect that.
Apart from Blanchett, Cruz (whose style is unadventurous but consistently tasteful) and Mirren, the women on this list have neither taste nor style.
Natalie, who I think is stunningly beautiful and very graceful, sometimes choose cute outfits but most of the time dresses like a house-elf (OK, I am exaggerating a bit). Lopez is one of the tackiest woman in Hollywood and Sienna has lost her mojo a long time ago. The rest is too boring to bother commenting upon.
while natalie portman looks nice dressed up, she generally is in jeans and uni sweatshirts....not what i'd call stylish at all...but i hate INstyle magazine as well...
now cate blanchette is pure style to me. she can pull of anything. kiera knightley has a very interesting style too, and i think she's tenfold more stylish than natalie, considering they're about the same age.
dre berrymore has stepped it up a notch i think, but she doesn't come to mind when i think 'style'. sienna miller: rehashed pseudo kate moss wanna be. cameron diaz: she's got great legs....but that's about it. anne hathaway: wtf? this girl always looks clownish to me in editorial shoots....i dont consider her glamourous or very stylish....a bit frumpy for her age honestly....
sorry for the harsh words, but i really just disagree with this style list!!
when i am looking for style...i am NOT looking at INstyle......
it's the most safe and commercial mag out there...
completely generic...
for me style means something unique and personal...
natalie portman is adorable...but i can't identify her with any sort of personal style of signature look...
though she's so cute that she could pretty much look good in anything..
unlike some other girls who really have to try hard to look semi ok...
Yeah I hate these type of list. Best dressed, most beautiful, hottest, sexiest, most diserable. Stupid. And Cate I consider having more style then Natalie.
