Rachel McAdams storms out of Vanity Fair shoot

http://www.yeeeah.com/weblog/2005/12..._mcadams_.html

Rachel McAdams Won't Go Nude For Tom Ford

Radar Online reports that Rachel McAdams stormed out of a November cover shoot for Vanity Fair, firing her publicist on the way, after finding out that flesh-obsessed designer Tom Ford expected her to pose naked. Her publicist, Amy Van Iden, had forgotten to tell the Wedding Crashers actress that she would have to undress for the shoot. When she arrived on the L.A. set and found out what Ford had in mind, she turned tail and promptly fired Van Iden.
"Every magazine wants her on their cover and thinks she's gonna be huge, so she can get away with being picky," says a Condé Nast insider. "But everyone's really impressed that she stood up for herself. It's kind of amazing, actually."
It's strange Rachel McAdams wasn't aware of that since Tom Ford had previously told reporters the "entire issue would be naked," and his recent work showcased his fondness for nudity.

I'm proud of her!

its not like she hasnt done nudity before.

frankly, i dont see what is so special about her, especially since they were putting her in the issue with scarlett johanson and kiera knightly.

Good for her! I love Rachel....she looks like she has a good head on her shoulders!

If she doesn't wanna be nude, then kudos to her for storming out and not cowering under pressure.

Yeah even if she's done nudity before, it's always her choice, nobody else's. More women should care about themselves first before pleasing other people.

I like her way more than Scarlett and Keira.

Go Rachel!
And even if she has done nudity before, it doesn't mean that she has to do it again. Almost every woman has times when she isn't on very good terms with her body but of course we don't know her excuse and she doesn't even need to have one!

Well she went to my University...(York University) and my friend knows her...and she is quite nice...very down to earth...not superficial...like the girl next door....and very kind and doesn't ask for attention..... anyhoo I htink there is just somethign about her that people just really like.....She was acting in a play one time....(i don't think it was at a play for york uni. ) but anyhoo this acting coach woman/agent/critic or soemthing along those lines saw rachel mcadams perform and she ....YOU KNOW SHE WASN'T THE GREATEST ACTRESS IN THE PLAY AT ALL, BUT REALLY THERE SOMETHING REALLY SPECIAL ABOUT HER THAT WILL PUT HER TO THE TOP" and that's before she became famous....

anyhoo there is just something about her that is likeable or something

Good for Rachel...for once a gal that actually stood up for herself instead of just stripping down like some of the certain other well known girls that do that at the drop of a dime. *cough*Paris Hilton*cough* But I shouldn't compare Rachel to [i]her[i]. She is much more intelligent and natural than Paris.

Yeah I don't think she should ever be compared to Paris.. Paris is more likely to storm out of a shoot because it requires wearing clothes

I'd very much like to know what Tom Ford's reaction was...

Honestly I can't fault her for leaving, if I hadn't been told by someone working for me that I was going to be photographed nude then I'd be pissed off too.

^ Exactly. If I'd known it was Tom Ford, I'd have asked a lot of questions, but she certainly deserves to have everything spelled out upfront, vs getting there & having Tom say "drop 'em." It's about time someone told Tom no

And I agree, she def does have that "sweetheart" quality--loved her in Wedding Crashers.

I can't really picture in a photoshoot with Tom Ford but Good For Her! She doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to.
