I just thought i would post a tribute thread to this fabulous politician, its nota political thread though as we all know political discussions are not allowed on TFS.
What else is she if not a person who was fighting for a cause, and died for that cause? (isn't that the definition of a martyr?)
She knew the risks, probably even knew she wouldn't live to see the elections, and yet she continued to press forward. That's much more than can be said for other "politicians" who purport to do the same thing. When is the last time anyone has seen Musharraf in public?
I may not have agreed with all her politics, but this is a sad day for those who hoped and prayed for stability and a democratic process in Pakistan.
I also had a feeling that it was going to happen sooner or later. Bhutto has been warned so many times but obviously didn't really care. I really admired her for her strength and will to fight for the cause without giving attention to the consequences. I wish there were more (female) politicians like her these days.

what a terrible year!
she was one of those few people who could make a change.
i find it a shame that not enough people in her home country recognised and appreciated her.
this was sadly very well planned and i admire her courage of not accepting defeat.
RIP benazir
She was in exile for years, comes back to her country and is killed within 3 months. Gross feleny aside she was going to bring hope and deomocracy to a lot of depserate people. I hope her children are doing okay. RIP. God be with her.
i agree leyla, one of those strongly voiced people who could have actually made a change.
i loved her. she spoke with no rhetoric. she was honest and immensely passionate.
rip
