Sienna Miller is designing jeans

From Glamour.co.uk

WORKING GIRL

Sienna Miller is set to design her very first fashion collection: a denim line for Pepe. According to fashion insiders, Sienna's capsule collection of jeans will be unveiled next season, and is tipped to be a big success. "Sienna has become a style icon in such a short space of time. She's been on the cover of Vogue, everyone knows who she is and this is the perfect time to do something like this. The jeans will be her own unique designs and the fact that she can model the clothes herself makes the whole project even more exciting. Even though she is ultra-skinny, her jeans will be made to flatter most sizes. The hope is she'll do for Pepe what Victoria Beckham has done for Rock and Republic." Sienna is also likely to model the jeans as part of her contract with Pepe; she has been appearing in ads for the company since last November, when the label signed her to be their new face. Sienna Miller Jeans line for Pepe?

She's one of the only women on Earth who actually looks good in skinny jeans. Now Sienna Miller is taking her love affair with denim even further by designing her own exclusive range. The actress, famed for her boho chic, has signed a multi-million-pound deal with trendy label Pepe to produce a unique line. If everything goes to plan, the jeans should be unveiled next season. A fashion insider tells us: "Sienna has become a style icon in such a short space of time. The hope is she'll do for Pepe what Victoria Beckham has done for Rock and Republic."

Good luck to her. I don't think this task requires much creativity from Sienna, it's pure marketing to me. I believe the outcome will mostly depend on whether or not next season she'll still be the 'it' girl...

I just hope this denim line is actually fashionable, and not celebrity replica fashion, a la Jessica Simpson and "Princy."

If she names the jeans Sienna jeans and models them on what she wears.... count me O-U-T.

I'm a Sienna clothes fan....but I'm not supportive of this decision. I want her to stick to acting.

To be fair Sienna has no acting skills so fashion is the only real hope for her.

If hope means "sales success," then good for Pepe but I wonder if they meant everything else too:

Posh's fashion career heads for the rocks

by EMILY MADDICK and KATIE NICHOLL, Mail on Sunday 12:14pm 30th April 2006

She failed in her bid to carve out a successful solo music career, and now it looks as if Victoria Beckham's new role as a fashion designer could be about to fall flat, too.

The ex-Spice Girl is reported to be "at loggerheads" with American jeans label Rock & Republic, and sources say things are so strained that the firm may not renew her contract, which expires in just a few weeks.

Although 32-year-old Mrs Beckham's DVB range of jeans has been a sales success, sources at the Los Angeles-based fashion house claim she has had one too many "creative difficulties" with its American owner, Michael Ball.

Ironically, the normally publicity-hungry wife of England football captain David Beckham has been criticised for not participating in enough PR opportunities in the UK.

Relations between Mrs Beckham and Mr Ball, 38, have been strained for the past six months and, accordingto sources, he has had little patience with her "demanding behaviour" since they had a blazing row at a fashion show in November.

At the time it was reported that Mr Ball had to call security and have Mrs Beckham escorted from the building after she threw a tantrum because her jeans were not included in the show.

Mrs Beckham's spokesperson denied the row and claimed it was an altercation between stylists.

But a source at Rock & Republic said: "She threw a fit at the show and had to grovel her way back into Michael's good books. They expected her to do more UK appearances to promote the brand after that - but she hasn't and they are not happy.

"The contract comes up in June/July and no decision has yet been made."
A source close to the Beckhams said: "Victoria and Rock & Republic are at loggerheads. She's being demanding about what she wants in the contract. They aren't giving in."

Both Michael Ball and Robert De Keyser, who imports the label into the UK, declined to comment.

But Mrs Beckham's spokesperson said: "There's some talk as to whether Victoria chooses to renew the contract as she has so many fashion projects lined up. As far as I'm aware, Rock & Republic would like her to keep working for them."

I'm getting sick of celebrities "designing" their own lines of clothing. Jessica Simpson doesn't even design Princy, yet her name is attatched to it and ughh it just grosses me out how they basically get paid for nothing, just appearances and the use of their name. I do like Sienna though, so I'll be interested to see how they turn out. I've never seen Posh's R&R line..going to look right now!

Fashion Scoops: Sienna Miller, Designer ... Designs On London ... Rocking The Slopes ...
SIENNA MILLER, DESIGNER: Sienna Miller is set to capitalize on her flair for fashion. The actress, currently the face of denim brand Pepe Jeans London, will develop her own capsule collection for the Madrid-based brand for the fall 2007 season. A Pepe spokesman declined to say how involved Miller would be in the design process, or what the collection will consist of. In January, Pepe hired Miller to be the brand's face, and the actress is under contract through the spring 2008 season.

I think she will have more success as a jean designer than ever she will as an actress
